چکیده

The vertex arboricity ρ(G) of a graph G is the minimum number of subsets into which the vertex set V (G) can be partitioned so that each subset induces an acyclic graph. In this paper, it is shown that if G is a toroidal graph without 7-cycles, moreover, G contains no triangular and adjacent 4-cycles, then ρ(G) ≤ 2. On list vertex 2-arboricity of toroidal graphs without cycles of specific length

The vertex arboricity $rho(G)$ of a graph $G$ is the minimum number of subsets into which the vertex set $V(G)$ can be partitioned so that each subset induces an acyclic graph‎. ‎A graph $G$ is called list vertex $k$-arborable if for any set $L(v)$ of cardinality at least $k$ at each vertex $v$ of $G$‎, ‎one can choose a color for each $v$ from its list $L(v)$ so that the subgraph induced by ev...

Vertex arboricity of toroidal graphs with a forbidden cycle

The vertex arboricity a(G) of a graph G is the minimum k such that V (G) can be partitioned into k sets where each set induces a forest. For a planar graph G, it is known that a(G) ≤ 3. In two recent papers, it was proved that planar graphs without k-cycles for some k ∈ {3, 4, 5, 6, 7} have vertex arboricity at most 2. For a toroidal graph G, it is known that a(G) ≤ 4. Let us consider the follo...

On independent domination numbers of grid and toroidal grid directed graphs

A subset $S$ of vertex set $V(D)$ is an {em indpendent dominating set} of $D$ if $S$ is both an independent and a dominating set of $D$. The {em indpendent domination number}, $i(D)$ is the cardinality of the smallest independent dominating set of $D$. In this paper we calculate the independent domination number of the { em cartesian product} of two {em directed paths} $P_m$ and $P_n$ for arbi...

2 7 Se p 20 06 A Note on ( 3 , 1 ) ∗ - Choosable Toroidal Graphs †

An (L, d)-coloring is a mapping φ that assigns a color φ(v) ∈ L(v) to each vertex v ∈ V (G) such that at most d neighbors of v receive colore φ(v). A graph is called (m, d)-choosable, if G admits an (L, d)-coloring for every list assignment L with |L(v)| ≥ m for all v ∈ V (G). In this note, it is proved that every toroidal graph, which contains no adjacent triangles and contains no 6-cycles and...

A Note on The Linear Arboricity of Planar Graphs without 4-Cycles∗

The linear arboricity la(G) of a graph G is the minimum number of linear forests which partition the edges of G. In this paper, it is proved that if G is a planar graph with ∆(G) ≥ 5 and without 4-cycles, then la(G) = ⌈∆(G) 2 ⌉. Moreover, the bound that ∆(G)≥ 5 is sharp.
